"805.-Lake at Glen Iris"-(Reflection.)
"Views on the Line of the Erie
Railroad"
L. E. Walker, Warsaw NY
circa 1870
The
Glen Iris "Lake" is, of course, the pond and fountain
that still can be seen in the Park today. Mr. Letchworth reportedly
acquired the Canoe from the Great Lakes area, and it was often
found hanging on the side of the Council House.
The
enlarged view below also shows a rare glimpse across the gorge
to the Slide Area. If you look closely, you will see the line
of the Genesee Valley Canal being carried across the landslide
area on a wooden aqueduct.
