Stereoview
East end of Bridge showing Station area
unknown photographer/publisher
Circa 1860's

This view shows the area at the east end of the Portage Wooden Bridge. The Station and several railroad related structures are visible including a barrel that probably held water in case of fire. Flanking the railroad is the Cascade House (right) and the Emerald House (left.) The road to the right of the bridge, marked by a sign or banner on two poles, leads down to Portageville. Today little remains of this once busy railroad stop. See Image 47 for another view of this area.
